We are still at the Kandersteg Ice Climbing Festival, where we will be joining Black Diamond athlete up the mountain to check out the Ice Climbing Workshops that they are running at the festival. The question is will Jon let Charlie climb? In the news today: On 8/12/2012 Austrian alpinist David Lama made the first ascent, solo, of Nordverschneidung (400m, 90°, WI4, M4/5, VI/VII) up the North Face of Hohe Kirche in the Valsertal, Zillertal Alps, Austria. Lama required circa half an hour to breach the 30m crux pitch, after which a final 100m of easier terrain led pretty much directly to the top.
