This summer alone has seen a number of major accidents in the Chamonix area and in the last week alone, a guide and his 5 clients were killed on the Aiguille d'Argentiere, followed by another guide and his 2 clients on the Aiguille Du Midi. Today on the show we speak to Vice President of the French Mountain Guides Association, Nicolas Lochu, to get an expert's take on the tragedies, and an explanation why these incidents have been so heavily reported on in comparison to similar accidents in recent years which have gone relatively unnoticed in the mainstream press.
