ADAM ONDRA CLIMBS 3X 9A'S IN ONE DAY | EPICTV CLIMBING DAILY, EP. 156

It didn't seem so long ago that climbing 9a was news worthy in itself, but the emergence of Adam Ondra over the past few years has meant that you've got to do something very special to make it into the headlines. The man himself has managed it this time though, with 3 9a's in a day, and an 8c just for good measure. Best of all, Ondra had minimal knowledge of all the routes, and climbed them all either 2nd or 3rd go. The Frankenjura in Germany is home to some of the World's hardest short sport climbs, and was the place where the first 9a was climbed. In his marathon of hard climbing, Ondra climbed The Elder Statesman, The House of Shock and Sever the Wicked Hand and Wut zum Leben (8c). He claims that this doesn't necessarily mean he's in great shape though, as he got pumped on the routes, which are "only" 12 -- 15 metres.
